PIANC 36th World Congress Antwerp: Innovation & sustainable transition
Dear PIANC supporter,
We are delighted to announce that the Belgian section of PIANC will be organising the World Congress 2028 in Antwerp, Belgium.
The WC 2028 in Antwerp will be an opportunity to highlight the achievements and challenges of the Belgian waterway sector and to exchange knowledge and best practices with other PIANC members and experts from around the world.
The theme of the congress focuses on the role of water transport and infrastructure in the transition to a low-carbon and circular economy, as well as the integration of social and environmental aspects into planning and design.
Hosting the conference in Antwerp will create an atmosphere of conviviality in one of Europe’s largest ports and the old city of Antwerp, with its rich culture that has grown over the centuries along the Scheldt.
We are confident that WC 2028 in Antwerp will be a memorable and successful event for PIANC and its members, as well as for the Belgian waterway sector and the city of Antwerp.
